Our Museum and Research Center Expansion Project Campaign
We are planning for the future here at Firelands Historical Society! The below pictures and video are just a glimpse and an idea of what we are hoping to bring to the Firelands area in our expansion onto the Laning-Young Research Center! This project is still in the fundraising and planning stages, but we hope to be able to raise enough funds to break ground in the coming years. This video and these pictures are provided to us by Brick Street Studios, who are assisting us in making our dream a reality! The estimated cost of the overall project is around $4 million. We understand that is quite a bit of money to raise, so we are fundraising in phases. Phase 1 is to raise $1-2 million so the "bare bones" of the expansion, as well as electric, HVAC, heating/cooling, etc. are covered. Phase 2 will be for the balance, and that will cover costs to "furnish" the expansion with our interactive, chronological exhibits and displays, as well as our operating and maintenance fees. We will seek out local companies for quotes on all labor and materials once we have raised enough to complete Phase 1. Stay tuned here or our Facebook page for any updates on our progress!
